YSF 2019 took place at the Flett Theatre at the Natural History Museum in London on Friday 22nd of November from 09:00 – 19:30.
YSF 2019 in numbers:

- 15 countries (Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Philippines, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA)

- Gender participation:
We had 16 contributed talks and 30 posters on the day with work covering microbial, plant and animal systematics and evolution, as well as phylogenetic methods.
Student oral and poster contributions were judged by a panel of 10 judges. The winners of this year’s edition were:
- Best talk: Ali Budhi Kusuma
- Second prize talk: Joan Ferrer Obiol
- Third Prize talk: Benedikt Kuhnhäuser
- Honourable mention: Sonia Molino de Miguel
- Best poster: Nick Barrett
- Second prize poster: Leila D’Souza
- Third Prize poster: Alison Irwin
