SynTax: 2009–2012
The Systematics and Taxonomy (SynTax) research scheme was designed to provide short-term funding for preliminary research that would form the basis of novel responsive mode proposals with a substantial systematics/taxonomy component. The scheme was supported by BBSRC and NERC research councils and the scheme aimed to stimulate high quality taxonomy and systematics-related research proposals to the UK’s Research Councils. The scheme followed on from the Collaborative Systematics (CoSyst) scheme, through which a number of projects have gone on to receive responsive mode funding.
Results of previous SynTax rounds: 2011–2012, 2010–2011 and 2009–2010.
Co-Syst: 2006–2009
Collaborative Scheme for Systematics Research

The initiative was intended to support preliminary collaborative research that will form the basis of novel responsive mode proposals to either BBSRC or NERC.
The scheme, provided funding of £2k to £20k for collaborative projects with a substantial systematic/phylogenetic/taxonomic component ans was available only to UK-based applicants.
Results of previous Co-Syst rounds: 2008–2009 2007–2008, and 2006–2007.
